The Annual Puppy Show
In addition to the normal exhibits you will find at an event
of this type, there is also a competition for the finest Shetland Fleece.
The competition, in two parts, is sponsored by Puppy of Japan (White
Section) and Jamieson and Smith (Coloured Section)
Puppy of Japan (one of Japan's leading hand knitting brands) has been specialising in Shetland Wool for many years and, to show it's gratitude to Shetland's wool producers, sponsors the Puppy Trophy and total prize money of £400.
Jamieson and Smith (that's us folks), by sponsoring the trophy and prize money for the Coloured Section, are trying to encourage Shetland's wool producers to produce more of the natural coloured wool produced by Shetland's indigenous sheep which are under threat from foreign imports masquerading as genuine "Shetland" textile products.
