The wool used in these rugs has been carefully hand sorted from coloured fleeces purchased by us from the Crofters and Farmers here in Shetland. Each limited edition rug comes with a certificate of authenticity from a Shetland Crofter, and is certified by the British Wool Board.

Each design is named after a weaving shed in Shetland, with the designs based on original weavings by the Shetland company "T.M. Adies of Voe", who produced many Shetland Wool garments in the early 20th Century such as the "Everest" jumpers worn by Sir Edmund Hillary, and George Mallory.

These rugs reflect not only the beautiful natural colours of the Shetland Islands, but also a glimpse into the rich past of Shetland's textile history.
